Color Symphony
Watercolor is the perfect medium for capturing a certain tone or mood. It is playful, spontaneous and very dynamic. In this series, I explore painting with layers of colorful washes and drops of different pigments. I experiment with the looseness and rigidness of composition through detail, light and shadows, texture and value. Watercolor is a demanding but also an intuitive medium. It serves as the perfect means for portraying specific moods in my subjects as well as my own state of mind.

Red Messenger, 10” x 14”
The Red Cardinal has carried symbolic meaning across cultures: in Native American traditions the Cardinal was the messenger between humans and the spirit world. Its red color was associated with vitality, life energy, passion and hope. In early Christian beliefs red cardinals were the symbols of sacrifice, renewal and eternal life. Because cardinals often mate for life, they are symbols of loyalty and enduring love.

Blue Renewal, 10” x 14”
The Mountain Bluebird carries a special symbolism, the Navajo believed it was a messenger of the rising day and renewal. Across many cultures, the blue bird was seen as a bridge between earth and sky, a link between the mortal and the divine. It was a symbol of happiness, prosperity, and heavenly blessings. Its blue color is an emblem of peace, spiritual clarity, and the presence of higher guidance.
Song of a Flower, 15” x 11”
Cyclamens, 10” x 14”
A Horse with No Name, 12” x 16”
The title refers to the song by the band America. The painting is based on a photo taken by a photographer friend. The solitude of the horse in the landscape, and its complete freedom is what appealed to me. The horse in ancient and modern civilization symbolizes power, loyalty and liberty. This painting portrays a journey into solitude and self-discovery, an escape from daily reality, and the joy of being fully immersed in the splendor of nature.
