This series represents intimate moments I wanted to capture on paper: Backyard Bliss is about enjoying time alone. Les Cerfs-Volants depicts my teenage daughters’ favorite spot in the backyard. The Fortune Teller represents my mother’s coffee cups turned upside down waiting to be “read”. These paintings are personal narratives - they illustrate special ties with places and people. They also reveal some of the traditions within the multi-cultural environment I grew up in.
